dear blog,

i realize i haven't posted in awhile, but not for lack of things to talk about. i just... haven't i guess. but here is a rundown of life lately. a picture list if you will.

and wednesday night we planned our disneyland trip! so far it's nickie and becca and nickie's friends brittany and stephanie. it is going to be SO FUN!! we have 2 open seats... any takers? also, tonight i'm going to The Porch with lauren, lindsey, jessica callahan and jacob newman. i'm really excited! and this weekend is general conference AND i get to meet maddie's love interest. YES, PLEASE.

dear blog,

i inadvertently inhaled my fair share of paint fumes today as i tried to finish everyone's t-shirts for the midnight premiere of the hunger games on thursday night. i wanted to finish today because i'm pretty busy tomorrow and i want to wash them and distribute them in time. they have been SO MUCH WORK. but today as i painstakingly sprayed everyone's personalized message letter-by-letter onto their shirt i couldn't help but feel like cinna, styling everyone to make an impression for the start of the games. i love the hunger games books so much because not only are they extremely entertaining, but they also force the reader to think twice about social and ethical issues. not to mention that i feel like the characters are my best friends. i finished 11 shirts today and there are 4 more forthcoming. we are going to look amazing. i am so excited!!!

this morning we went to beca's homecoming. she did such a great job and i'm so glad she's back!

1. i prefer staying up late and sleeping in.

salmonella

dear blog,

don't take this the wrong way, buuuut, i kind of love when a member of my family is in the hospital. here's why: 1. they are there to get better! and 2. when someone has a brush with sickness i feel like it brings out the best in everybody else. i just love how everybody bands together and gets along. gramma dowd was in the hospital for the weekend because she got salmonella poisoning from some cross-contamination on a slice of costco pizza and she was sick for a couple of days and lost so many fluids that she passed out in the bathroom in the middle of the night and bonked her head pretttty good. she didn't have a concussion, but they rehydrated her at the hospital and they said that the symptoms of the salmonella will go away after a couple of days. she will take a couple of weeks to get all of her strength back, and she has a pretty sick shiner from hitting her head, but other than that she will be just fine!

anyways this weekend i found myself overwhelmed by how awesome my family is and how lucky i am to be part of a group of people that i love and who i know love me and would be there right by my side being slightly too rowdy and embarrassing if i were ever to be in the hospital.
