dear blog,
i have always been a little bit clumsy. i have broken many a thing by accident, tripped in public (sometimes while just plain standing,) spilled on myself, etc. there is a running joke at our house that a dinner is successful if i do not knock a glass over (but seriously, i knock glasses over a lot.) but i feel like this is getting worse. within the last week i have accidentally poured melted butter all down my front, dropped my glasses into my ranch-covered salad while eating, dropped my phone at least 3 times (as in the case, the cover and the battery all fell off,) today i was walking and i nearly fell down, i know for a fact there were more things, but i guess i've already started to block them out. it's not that big of a deal, but i can't help but wonder, WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN TO ME? it's like if i'm not paying 100% attention to what my body is doing that something embarrassing is bound to happen. did i not learn how to be a human properly? am i a 4 year old stuck in a 22 year old's body? did i do something to deserve a big daily dose of embarrassment? i think sometimes in movies it can be cute or endearing when someone is a little bit clumsy (i.e. the princess diaries,) but i don't feel cute or endearing when i have food down my front and i lose my balance for no reason.
so.... any tips? any reformed klutz's care to share their secrets to success?
please?
PLEASE?
but really.
love,
rochelle

virgin mobile
dear blog,
this week baby girl got a cell phone.
it's smart and it's fancy, it's her very first one and she is already a master at it! it's so weird to me that her very first phone is this computer and my very first phone was a tiny flip phone with a black and white screen that didn't hold contacts or have texting capabilities. even my second phone didn't have a colored screen and was pretty ghetto and i had that all through high school and during my freshman year of college even. but seriously, i am blown away by how carly and i are not very far apart in age, but technology has moved so fast that her teenage experience is way more technologically advanced than my own. when i was in high school tivo was a miracle and now our tv has the internet and there are literally thousands of movies and shows at your figertips. and i can't decide if this is wonderful or not. a little of both i think, just like most things.
well, baby girl, use it wisely.
love,
rochelle
p.s. i'm pretty sure she's already texted more than i have on my phone in the six months that i've had it...

before and after disneyland
dear blog,
it was not a drama free trip, but it was lovely and definitely worthwhile.
love,
rochelle
sorry i haven't posted in ages! but the internet at home hasn't been working so i couldn't really blog. but here i am! back in full swing and i figured i'd pick up where i left off... and i know it was awhile ago, but i still wanted to post all of the pictures from the rest of our california trip a couple of weeks ago. here they are!
we left saturday after i was done at distribution and we drove to las vegas. |
jason is the worst! (bec and i saw this billboard on the drive and for some reason decided to hate on jason the whole trip... which was hilarious.) |
stephanie's dad had hotel points and got us a room at the hilton inn and suites at the las vegas airport. |
the bed was amazing! and we got a free breakfast! |
on sunday at joan and will's we just relaxed, showered, played the wii, watched movies and prepared for disneyland |
and nickie got pretty weird... |
turkeyyy |
then we went to disneyland....
on friday we went to the beach and ellen came with us. it was such a beautiful day and we all got a liiiiittle sunburnt (who am i kidding, we were lobsters) but it was lovely. |
we went to leo carrillo and there were beautiful tide pools there |
nickie's a babe. |
for the rest of friday we visited julie and brooke, ate baja fresh, visited becky and olivia and then we went to the jones' and played apples to apples with this adorable friend of mine. |
in the morning elise made us fairy bread (an australian specialty that is basically bread with nutella and sprinkles cut into triangles like fairy wings) |
then we drove all day saturday and got home before dark. |

rochelle

disneyland
dear blog,
last week i was at DISNEYLAND! but seriously guys, if you want to know one nerdy/lovely thing about me, it's that i'm a wee bit obsessed with that magical place. (not as much as richie, but still.) and i got to go FOR THREE DAYS. what? i don't think i even remember going for two days, but three was a completely different experience. for example we got to ride pretty much EVERYTHING in disneyland and california adventure and we got to ride the big stuff a million trillion times (which was extra awesome because it was becca's first time ever!) to be honest, i think i prefer just going for one, because we were there so long i feel like we became complacent and the magic faded a little. plus it was just plumb exhausting. but to be fair, i am still in love with it and i would go back in a heart beat (just for a day though) and it will always hold a place in my heart as the happiest place on earth, dangit!
oh my, i love that place.
also, shout out to my aunt joan and uncle will who let us stay at their place in newport beach! it was sooo nice to be so close and to have somewhere free to stay. thank you thank you thank you!
love,
rochelle
p.s. i think tower of terror is my favorite favorite.
p.p.s. mickey mouse himself walked right by me and i semi-freaked out but he ignored me in order to greet some children... rude!
p.p.p.s i wore ugly soccer mom shoes all 3 days, but oh boy it was worth it!
(we also stayed in newbury park for 2 days which was SO lovely, but i'll write about that in a different post.)

nickie! |
my hair was literally OUT OF THIS WORLD |
i'm serious when i say THIS WASN'T PLANNED |

these storm troopers came up to nickie and asked to take a picture with her! |

my favorite is the model in the back row. so proper! |
hahahah! |
strangers and best friends |
it's a small world. |
nickie is terrified of the swinging cars on the ferris wheel. haha |
also, shout out to my aunt joan and uncle will who let us stay at their place in newport beach! it was sooo nice to be so close and to have somewhere free to stay. thank you thank you thank you!
